- Get to Know Your Instructor- A pilates consultation offers you the opportunity to get to know your instructor and their personality outside the setting of a workout. You’ll be able to get a sense of how your personalities mesh and determine if it’s a good fit or if you want to seek instruction elsewhere.
- Set Goals- In a private pilates consultation, you’ll also have the chance to go over your personal fitness goals with your instructor or get some professional advice on setting such goals if you don’t have a clear picture of what you want yet. Knowing your goals going in will help you focus your efforts during your pilates sessions and will help your instructor tailor your program towards meeting them and monitor your progress along the way.
- Go Over Health Concerns- Your pilates consultation is also the perfect time to make your instructor aware of any pre-existing health concerns you may be dealing with. For example, if you have an old injury, don’t bring it up just before class starts when the instructor likely has a dozen other questions to address–bring it to the instructor’s attention in a one-on-one setting where they can be sure to commit it to memory.
